It has been announced recently that the communications giant Telstra is set to launch its 4G wireless broadband system to businesses in Australia later this month. The system will be launched for businesses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane and the carrier will be selling the commercial device from later on this month.

The first 4G base stations were switched on by Telstra back in May, and these were using the fourth generation technology known as LTE or Long Term Evolution. From the end of August there will be around two thousand Telstra USB 4G mobile broadband modems that will be made available to business customers.

Chief Executive Officer David Thodey said that this would come ahead of the national rollout of 4G services, which is set to take place later on this year. The communications giant will be working alongside Ericsson AB in order to launch the product. The company has said that the 4G service will not have any negative impact on the National Broadband Network.

For business customers the new service will provide many benefits, which will prove important for businesses in the current climate because of the increased need for polished performance and the ability to compete with rivals on a national and international scale.
