According to a recent report the Australian communications giant Telstra could be planning to reduce its mobile broadband plan prices later this year, dropping prices to coincide with the commercial launch of its LTE devices. The LTE devices are set to launch later in the year and when this happens it is thought that the provider may overhaul its Liberty mobile broadband plans.

The report claims that in place of the plans that are available at the moment, which come as 400MB, 1GB, 3GB, 7GB and 12 GB plans, the provider will upgrade these to 1GB, 4GB, 8GB and 15GB plans but without charging any extra. This could be great news for those that are looking for better value for money when it comes to their mobile broadband services.

Earlier in the week the provider launched it LTE services for business and enterprise consumers, which were made available for those within 5 km of CBDs in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

There is still some uncertainty over the speeds that will come with the new LTE device, with some reports claiming that Telstra is advising that the speeds will be between 2Mpbs and 40Mbps, with LTE areas averaging around 30Mbps. However, Telstra has reportedly said that the speeds will be confirmed closer to the launch date.
