It has been announced that Vividwireless, which is part of Severn Network, has launched its 4G broadband service in Perth, and has ambitious plans to expand the network in the near future.
According to recent reports communications company Vividwireless, which is part of the Severn Network, has now launched its 4G broadband service in Perth, Australia, managing to meet its target of launching the service in the early part of 2010. The network is said to be Australia’s first 4G wireless broadband network, and the company has already said that it is planning to expand the service across Australia in the near future.
In a recent press release the chairman of the company, Ryan Stokes, stated:
“We are very confident of success in Perth. As such we will continue the deployment into inner-city markets across Australia. With the next stage we are being very careful to target densely populated inner-city areas and early adopters of technology.”
The Chief Executive of the company, Martin Mercer, added:
“Our extension of the service will provide scale and roaming capability to Vividwireless’s customers. The inner-city networks will form the base from which we can expand the coverage of the Vividwireless service to outer-lying areas in the future.”
Mr Mercer also expressed the company’s pride in the launch of the 4G network, adding: “Many did not believe us when we said we would launch in March. In six months our team has done what other companies struggle to do in twice the time.”
It is thought that the 4G service will continue to be expanded across the country over the year, and that by the summer areas including Sydney and Melbourne will be able to gain access to the service.
