Internode voted Australia’s favourite broadband provider
New data from broadband comparison site Broadband Expert reveals Australia’s favourite home broadband provider is Internode, with customers giving it a satisfaction rating of 84 percent.
Over the last six months Broadband Expert has been asking visitors running a speed test on BroadbandExpert.com.au to rate their broadband provider. The comparison site collected 6,697 results during the period of 1 November 2009 to 30 April 2010. Internode was crowned the most popular provider with a score of 84 percent and Dodo scored the least with 58 percent.
Broadband Expert’s commercial director Rob Webber was pleasantly surprised at the results.
“Broadband providers can often receive negative press from customer reviews and Internet forums where typically only unhappy customers who have received poor service go to vent their frustration; however our study shows the average rating for Australian Internet service providers (ISPs) is a respectable 65 percent, with all ISP’s comfortably above the 50 percent mark.”
Webber advises whilst the ratings are encouraging, there is still a big difference between providers at the top and bottom of the results ladder.
“Customers need to look beyond the headline price, data allowance and theoretical download speed,” he explains.
“You can have what appears to be the best value plan in the world but if you are let down by poor service, it soon becomes a false economy. We hope by revealing how customers rate their own ISP’s, we can help make the process of choosing a broadband plan an easier and more informed process.”
