Australian consumers overspending on internet
It has been claimed in a recent report that Australian broadband users are overspending by tens of millions of dollars on their internet connections due to lack of understanding.
For most people these days cutting back on their financial outgoings and reining in their spending has become very important, as many are experiencing financial issues because of the current climate. However, according to one recent report there are many Australian broadband users that are overspending on their internet connections.
The report claims that in total Australian broadband users are overspending by around $141 million on their internet connections because of a lack of understanding. The claims were made in the iSelect Broadband Report, which was released recently. The data showed that over seven and a half million Australian households were now subscribing to broadband internet, which reflected an increase of almost one million in the space of twelve months.
However, whilst many Australians have stated that the internet is the most important piece of technology in their homes, with many having become reliant on it, the report showed that a huge number of Australians were failing to review and change their internet plans to suit their needs and pockets, resulting in many overpaying for their internet connections.
One official stated: “Australians need to do their homework on broadband before signing up to a new contract. It doesn’t need to be time consuming or difficult – if you use an online comparison service, you can evaluate plans based on your actual needs to find the best one for you.”
