Bonnyrigg households get access to NBN
Around ten households in a new development in Bonnyrigg have activated their National Broadband Network connections via the broadband service provider of their choice.
Residents in new housing estates in various parts of Australia will be looking forward to getting their NBN connections activated and recently around ten households on a new housing estate in Bonnyrigg have turned on their NBN connections using the broadband service provider of their choice.
The residents who are from the Newleaf housing development will be able to start enjoying the benefits of the NBN after it was rolled out in the area in August. The local connection has been constructed by by Fujitsu and Service Stream and was amongst the first to be launched in Australia.
One official said: “Developers of new housing estates in Australia are now required to provide fibre-based telecommunications systems.” He added that residents of new housing estates and developments “can take full advantage of the social and economic benefits offered by ultra fast internet services available over the NBN”.
Amongst the providers that are currently offering NBN broadband services to customers are Exetel, iiNet, Internode, iPrimus and Telstra. Consumers can look at the prices and deals that the providers that service their areas offer and go with the one that best suits their needs as well as their budget.
The NBN official added: “More than 1.9 million new premises are estimated to be constructed across Australia during the life of the NBN rollout over about 10-years. NBN Co has already received more than 2200 new development applications for fibre infrastructure nationally. This represents over 176,000 premises and we continue to receive about 50 new applications each week.”
