Expected increase in NBN take up in 2012
Industry experts have said that they believe the take up of National Broadband Network services will increase this year, as providers start to offer deals and packages in earnest.

The start of the rollout of the National Broadband Network in Australia last year saw the government displaying high hopes with regards to its success and the benefits that it would bring. Whilst the figures for NBN take up last year may not have been as high as some people had hoped they would be, it could be a different story for the young Australian network this coming year.
Industry experts have stated that they believe the take up of National Broadband Network services is set to increase over the course of this year, as Internet Service Providers will start offering deals and packages in earnest in a bid to get new customers and subscribers on board.
In 2011 more than four thousand Australians were connected to the network and this year could see a mass influx of subscribers if the deals are offered at the right price and on the right terms. NBN Co has said that it is pleased with the connection numbers so far and could be set to enjoy a very fruitful year in terms of subscriber numbers in 2012.
NBN head of industry relations Jim Hassell has said that one of the major challenges that faced NBN Co is ensuring that the network was rolled out fast enough to cater for demand. He said: ”A crucial task for 2012 will be to educate and inform Australians about the principles that dictate the rollout.”
