It has been reported that the Internet Provider iiNet has now signed up the first customers to the new Australian National Broadband Network.
It has been reported by the Internet Service Provider iiNet that the company has now signed up the first customers of the new Australian National Broadband Network. A senior official from iiNet, which is then third largest Internet Service Provider in Australia, said that it was fitting that an innovative company such as iiNet had signed up the first customers given that the National Broadband Network was the future of broadband in Australia.
iiNet’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Malone said: “The NBN is the future of broadband in Australia and as the nation’s leading innovative Internet Service Provider (ISP) it’s fitting that we signed up the first customers. The NBN is the most significant reform to the Australian telecommunications sector in decades and will ensure all Australians will have access to fast, affordable and competitive broadband.”
He also said that iiNet has been working closely with Tasmania NBNCo and NBNCo to make sure that customers could benefit from a smooth transition to the new network. Following the announcement that new customers have been signed up iiNet is now running a marketing campaign which will involve sending out special ‘orange envelopes’ to customers over the weeks to come.
iiNet has also announced that customers that sign up for broadband before the end of September this year will be able to benefit from paying no set up costs as long as they are prepared to sign up to a twenty four month contract,
