High broadband penetration and PC ownership results in greater demand for IT professionals
A recent report has shown that the increasing uptake of PCs coupled with the rising penetration of broadband services has resulted in an increased demand for IT professionals in Australia.
According to a recent report the demand for IT professionals and services in Australia has been on the rise as a result of the increasing uptake of PC coupled with the rising penetration of broadband services. A huge majority of households now have access to a PC and broadband and internet services and it is thought that the level of demand and take up of broadband is set to increase over the coming few years as a result of affordable plans on the National Broadband Network being made available from various providers.
The report stated that Australia was known for its impressive IT infrastructure and has been performing well in terms of advanced IT and infrastructure, which is thought to be partly down to the higher penetration of broadband services and PCs. There is, however, a serious shortage of skilled IT professionals in Australia, which has resulted in increased demand for those that are skilled and experienced in this field.
It was reported recently that around 4000 connections to the National Broadband Network had been seen by the end of last year but many believe that this will increase sharply as the technology continues to be extended across Australia and as more and more providers start to offer increasingly affordable deals on NBN plans.
