Inflight Internet access trialled by Qantas
It has been reported that the Australian airline, Qantas, is trialling inflight internet access on certain flights and routes, so some passengers will be able to get online using their various devices from February.
Many people these days like to be able to get online using broadband and internet devices no matter where they are or where they are going. Both business and casual users have become increasingly reliant on the Internet, turning this into an era of getting online whilst on the go. This is a rising demand that more and more companies are taking into consideration and one major Australian airline is hoping to provide passengers with the benefits of being able to get online whilst in the air.
According to recent reports the Australian airline, Qantas, is trialling inflight internet access on certain flights and routes, so some passengers will be able to get online using their various devices from February. This will prove invaluable for those that want to continue conducting business whilst on a flight as well as for those that simply want to get online to surf the Internet, prepare themselves for the destination they are travelling to, or keep in touch with their friends and family.
An official from the airline stated: “From February next year our customers travelling between Australia and Los Angeles will have the opportunity to participate in our inflight connectivity trial and communicate online from 35,000 feet. Our customers will be able to access the Internet via their WiFi enabled personal electronic devices, such as iPhones, iPads and BlackBerrys, on Qantas for the first time.”
