New cloud computing services to be run as Accenture and Telstra team up
A brand new range of cloud computing services that will be called Network Computing Services is to be launched following an alliance between the broadband and communications giant Telstra and the integration and migration specialists Accenture.
With Accenture’s ability to provide transformation, industry, migration and application integration and Telstra providing the networks and IT infrastructure the companies combined are able to offer a single delivery model through this new alliance.
To help businesses and organisations improve their business performance Telstra and Accenture have made an agreement to deliver cloud computing solutions throughout Australia and New Zealand. Companies such as Stella Travel and Fulton Hogan are among some of the companies that have been helped to improve their productivity using cloud computing since the alliance agreement was signed in April 2010.
A number of centralised data centres that are based in Australia and hosted in a secure Telstra facility deliver the Network Computing Services that offer users a range of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and these services are all accessible using a secure Telstra broadband connection.
The group managing director for Telstra Enterprise and Government, Nerida Caesar advised “Cloud computing offers enterprises a quantum leap towards enabling ICT-driven productivity gains. The Telstra and Accenture alliance gives customers wanting a cloud solution a unique blend of skills and capabilities that combine a world-leading network with best-in-class business solutions. Our customers are accessing their network computing and storage solution from where they need it, to help deliver productivity benefits along with cost and capital expenditure savings.”
The managing director for Accenture Australia Communications and High Tech, Steve Willis said “This alliance is proving very timely since many organisations are focused on driving new growth and increasing productivity, while keeping costs under control and reducing IT expenditure and energy consumption. Building on our long-standing relationship, together we are working with clients, providing them with access to the right skills, technologies and network infrastructure at the right time.”
