Optus supply Northern Territory Government mobile and satellite
Communications giant Optus has announced that it has been named as the supplier of mobile and satellite to the Northern Territory Government.
An announcement has been made by the communications giant Optus, which has revealed that it has been named as the provider of mobile and satellite service to the Northern Territory Government. This is a three year agreement that will see Optus providing mobile voice and data services, and this includes mobile broadband and mobile satellite services.
The decision comes following a thorough tendering process, and is worth around one hundred million dollars per year. The programme will cover a whole range of related services, and will be a big boost for Optus. NT Government agencies will now have access to the full range of Optus Business mobile voice and data services, including mobile data plans and mobile broadband.
Optus has made a lot of effort and investment to try and boost its coverage in order to give both businesses and consumers more choice, and officials from the company are therefore very pleased with the decision. Mark Williamson, Director of Northern Region Sales at Optus, said: “In the last financial year, Optus added 600 mobile sites across Australia, activating new sites in areas such as Lambells Lagoon, Humpty Doo South and Malak.”
Optus is also a leading provider of Thuraya mobile satellite services, and Mr Williamson added: “Combining Thuraya satellite services with our 3G Dual Band mobile network will allow NT Government agencies to mobilise their workforce while staff working and living in remote areas can stay connected. This win adds to our long history of working with State Government agencies.”
