Retailers catch on to popularity of online shopping
According to a recent report many big name Australian businesses are finally catching on to the popularity of online purchasing amongst broadband customers.
Over recent years, online shopping has become more and more popular amongst Australians, not least because of the increased access and affordability that they have when it comes to broadband services. With more and more people having access to broadband a rising number of people are able to make purchases online, which also opens up new opportunities for businesses and retailers.
According to a recent report many big name Australian businesses are finally catching on to the popularity of online purchasing amongst broadband customers. Many businesses have needed a real push to immerse themselves in the online environment but with the soaring popularity of online purchases and transactions fewer and fewer can deny that this is an opportunity not to be missed.
One company that has launched its sale online for the first time this Christmas is department store Myer. An official from the company said: “We are really concentrating on the omni-channel approach. Whether you want to buy online, collect in store, get it delivered, try on in-store then buy online – whatever combination you want, we can provide that.”
With so many people now enjoying the convenience, choice and value that they can get online, businesses that want to stay at the top of their game have little choice but to embrace online retailing, particularly given that the NBN is expected to get even more people on board this year which could equate to a further rise in online shoppers.
