Small businesses think of buying internet tablets
The popularity of mobile internet and broadband has made internet tablet into an instant hit both with consumers and businesses, with more and more businesses looking to invest in this technology.
It has been claimed in a recent report that many small businesses in Australia have been thinking of investing in internet tablets in the run up to Christmas to allow for more mobile and flexible working, which is helpful to both business owners and to the staff that may need to have more flexibility when it comes to their work.
With mobile broadband and internet services having become increasingly popular over recent years, many people embraced Internet tablets when they hit the market, with the iPad series from Apple proving very popular. Whilst these tablets have proven very popular amongst casual users they have also proven very effective for businesses, enabling them to enjoy and exercise more flexibility and freedom.
The research was conducted for communications giant Telstra by StollzNow Research and showed that one third of businesses in Australia have been thinking of investing in iPads or other internet tablets in the run up to Christmas. Research into small to medium sized business owners showed that twenty eight percent were thinking of buying a tablet prior to Christmas.
Will Irving, Telstra Business Group Managing Director, said: “More than 60 percent have at least one staff member spending most of their time working away from their main business location. Three-quarters of Australian SMEs are equipping staff with laptops, and more than half are now supplying smartphones for work purposes, rather than ordinary mobile phones.”
