Small businesses in Australia will be big winners as a result of the National Broadband Plan according to a senior official from the Council of Small Business of Australia.

The CEO of the Council of Small Business of Australia has stated that small businesses in Australia are set to really benefit from the National Broadband Plan, as it will help them to overcome many of the problems that small businesses tend to face on a regular basis. Jaye Radisich said that she thought the NBN would enable smaller businesses in Australia to compete with larger companies and on a global scale.

She stated: “Broadband will help facilitate solutions to everyday problems that small businesses face. The NBN will help small businesses by promoting workplace flexibility which in turn will provide savings for businesses and better work-life balance for staff.”  She said that these were all benefits that would make a huge difference to the operations and the success of small businesses, and would increase their capabilities, making it possible for them to compete more effectively.

She stated that she was looking forward to helping support small businesses as the NBN was rolled out, assisting them with engaging with digital and online strategies as the network came to fruition. She said that the Council of Small Business of Australia would work alongside the government to ensure that small businesses had the support that they needed.

A number of people have also been praising the NBN lately, some of whom were speaking at a forum in Sydney. One of these was the Father of the Internet, Vint Cerf, who said that he was envious of the many Australians that would benefit from the NBN.
