Smart phones will unlock major opportunities in Australia
A recent report on technological developments by the Australian Communications and Media Authority claims that smart phones will unlock major opportunities in the digital economy for innovative content and applications in the future.
As has been the case in many countries around the world Australia has seen the popularity of smart phones increase hugely over recent years, with many people keen to get their hands on the latest smart phones coming onto the market. Of course, manufacturers have caught on quickly to this popularity, and this has resulted in a range of new and exciting smart phones coming onto the market.
Many people now use their smart phones to access the internet, and the rising availability of mobile broadband and internet has enabled consumers and businesses to enjoy total freedom and flexibility when it comes to getting online. Officials are now claiming that smart phones will help to drive huge growth in mobile communications in Australia and will unlock a range of opportunities in the digital economy when it comes to innovative content and applications.
The report was released by the Australian Communications and Media Authority. The chairman of ACMA, Chris Chapman, said: “Digital technologies are really starting to have an enormous effect on the interactivity of individuals and organisations that now communicate using multiple forms of media in environments that are mobile, fast, and virtual.”
He added: “The report assists the ACMA, government, industry and the community to understand just how rapid is the pace of technology change, how it is impacting Australia and how we might ensure all Australians reap the benefits.”
