Unhappy broadband and phone customers now more likely to switch
Recently released figures have shown that broadband and phone customers in Australia are more likely to switch providers if they are unhappy these days.
In the past consumers in Australia who were not particularly happy with their broadband or phone services often did not bother to switch provider, instead opting to put up with the poor service or quality that they were receiving. However, recent figures have indicated that consumers are becoming increasingly savvy and that the tide seems to be changing.
A recently released report showed that consumers these days who are not entirely happy with the broadband or phone service or package that they have are more likely to switch to another provider. The research was carried out by the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
The results of the research also suggested that the level of consumers in Australia that were unhappy with these services was now relatively low compared to in the past. The survey showed that around nineteen percent of consumers would be prepared to switch if they were not happy, and this compared to sixteen percent a year ago.
One industry expert said that the fact that consumers were now more willing to switch providers if they were not happy with the package of service was good news. He said: “We’re encouraging people to be far more nimble and demanding as consumers and aware of their rights, and there’s no doubt that the telco area has been giving rise to plenty of complaints.”
Amongst the things that consumers seemed to be unhappy about when considering switching providers were the price of the services, poor reception or coverage, and low quality customer service levels.
