Wollongong businesses will benefit from NBN

An IT firm from Wollongong has recently highlighted how the NBN will help businesses in the area to compete more effectively with companies that are based on larger cities and areas.

As most people know, access to high speed broadband is something that businesses all around the world have come to rely on over recent years in order to compete effectively with other companies and in order to boost the success of the business in general. For those businesses who struggle to get this access things can be very difficult and it can be impossible to compete with rival firms.

One IT firm in Wollongong has recently highlighted how it will benefit from having access to the National Broadband Network when it is turned on in the area, stating that it will make it far easier for the company to compete against other companies in large cities who have had access to decent broadband speeds for years.

An official from the firm said: “The sooner we get it, the more competitive we’re going to be with other places around Australia, particularly Sydney, to do our installations of our software and support both through Australia and worldwide. Installing our software products into the mining industry, they’re all remote sites. Australia’s such a vast place. Everybody needs a good connection. One minute it’s fast, the next minute it’s slow … [and] we’re right next door to the Telstra building.”

Officials have said that the benefits will be even greater as a result of the companies being dealt with also having access to internet speeds that were far greater than the current ones.
