Vodafone used by TelstraClear to offer Next generation mobile broadband
In order to increase its current customer base a three year agreement with Vodafone has been signed by TelstraClear for it to offer customers next generation mobile broadband services.
With the key growth areas in the telecommunications industry at the moment being fixed-line and mobile broadband TelstraClear, which already has a substantial share in fixed-line broadband sector, will be able to offer its customers an equally extensive high-speed mobile broadband service as well.
As well as being able to provide enhanced services to its current customers TelstraClear will now also be able to provide complete business packages for business customers and also build on its current CDMA customer base.
The chief executive of TelstraClear, Dr Allan Freeth said “TelstraClear is now in a position to compete aggressively in the mobile broadband market. Our agreement ensures TelstraClear will have total control over our plans, handset range, customer base and international roaming is assured. Anyone considering next generation mobile or looking for simple, easy to understand plans needs to talk to TelstraClear before doing anything else.”
Following the ending of a previous agreement back in 2007 Vodafone has said that it is happy to be working with TelstraClear once again.
Russell Stanners, the chief executive for Vodafone New Zealand said “Vodafone’s advanced network coverage and speed is clearly a major drawcard as all the major mobile players bar one are using Vodafone’s network. The agreement with TelstraClear cements Vodafone’s position in the market as network of choice.”
The CDMA devices and services provided by TelstraClear will continue to be both supported and sold and the provided has advised that none of its existing customers will be in any way affected by this latest move. The transfer of services over to TelstraClear for customers with iPhones and other similar handsets will also be available with the implementation of this new next generation broadband service.
