Consumers test Vodafone service on NBN
According to recent reports a tiny handful of consumers are testing the services of communications giant Vodafone via the $36 billion National Broadband Network.

According to recent reports the communications giant Vodafone is trying out its fixed line services for the first time with a tiny handful of consumers said to be testing the service over the $36 billion National Broadband Network. For the last several months the mobile giant has been taking part in NBN technical trials in Armidale, NSW.
This pilot marks the provider’s first steps into the fixed line communications sector and according to Vodafone this trial will cover mobile, pay TV and high-definition movies on demand from FetchTV. Next year will see further trials taking place in Kiama NSW and Brunswick Victoria.
A spokesperson from Vodafone said: “We are using it to test our own operational processes from ordering through to activation, provisioning and service qualification. As well, we will capture important feedback from customers on the types of NBN services on offer, their impressions of various data throughput speeds and how they rate the experience at each of these speeds.”
He added: “As it is our first NBN trial, we have a small, dedicated management team in place and have trained a number of our contact centre staff in Kingston, Tasmania, to service the enquiries of customers involved in the Armidale trial, and the subsequent trials planned for Kiama and Brunswick.”
