Bigpond Mobile Broadband Review

Couldn't get adsl 2 so mobile was my next best choice. I'm in Perth metro and using an elite gateway which was bundled with my deal. I get anywhere between 2 and 8 megabit. Uploads are less inspiring but usually close to .6 megabit. It's $75.00 a month for 5 gb which is very expensive but this is my business and my back is to the wall. The router/modem is a reasonable device. Quite tidy with built in wifi access point. Which drops out quite often. Otherwise it's all good. This is a valid and useful alternative for those that cant get the copper or fibre connection.

Speed and reliability are good. Customer service and value for money are below par. Prices better if you combine with otehr services and a 24 month contract but this offers little flexibility if you are unable to commit to a 24 monthj contract (eg. moving o/s before end date). Also post paid devices not as flexible as competitors (eg. no post paid mini wifi). Customer service in shops poor (product knowledge) and sometimes difficult on phone (foreign consultants, long waiting times etc..). Basically, Telstra needs to lift its game.

Having recently changed my provider to bigpond, i was very suprised although i don’t think their prices are that great I was pleased to find a mobile broadband contract that was for 12 months and not 24! service is pretty good
