If you live in N. Canberra: find another provider

Con: network congestion makes it unusable
If you're likely to use your optus mobile broadband service in North Canberra then take my advi: don't waste your money, try another service provider. Optus service in this areas is seriously dreadful. The problem is congestion (not coverage). You will be kicked-off the network at regular intervals (like every few minutes) and during some periods get no reception at all. Zilch. The Optus tech people are generally helpful and honest - hence I know the issue is congestion (traffic) not coverage but that is small joy when you pay for a service you can barely use. The thing that really annoys me is the Optus sales and marketing people apparently do not pay any attention to the congestion issue: they just keep on selling new services irrespective of whether they have too little capacity to meet existing customers. I call that fraud: accepting payment for service you simply can't provide or do so whereby it is practically unusable.. It can only happen in a socialist- corporatist economy where competition is stiffled.

Optus fusion phone + net package
Pro: one set monthly fee
Con: not available all areas
Was with Optus for two years 8 months in our last home, and have been well pleased with the service speed and customer service. When we moved 10 months ago was no problem to move the service. The customer service has always been professional and helpful. Were moving again and im devastated that optus cant service our new area. The quotes I'm getting from other companies costs more for less net and home phone inclusions, comes no where near what we had :( I truly wish we could have optus in our new address!! I really cant say a bad thing about them and I've dealt with other companies before.

Optus
I signed up to optus's mobile broadband 2 weeks ago and have had no problems what so ever called the customer services to ask for help in installing and I personally found they were extremly helpful.

Optus Mobile Broadband Review
Have had Optus mobile broadband for a few months now and i find the signal keeps going and whenever i try to get through to customer services, when I do eventually get through they are just not helpful at all, my speed keeps changing as well and no body can tell me why!

I have been with Optus for a few years now and decided to try their mobile broadband. The deals are really good value, however when I called customer services to get help with a problem they were very unhelpful and ended up on the phone for hours trying to fix a simple issue!
