Vodaphone sucks
Pro: Good speed at bad times
Con: Very slow almost all the time
3 mobile sent me a message to say sign with Vodaphone. Since I have always had good connection and speed from my 3 service, I thought they would be recommending the same from Vodaphone. Not so, this connection is absolute crap when used at normal hours. After 11.00pm or before 7.30am I can get download speeds of better than 300kbps, but at say 8.00pm it ranges from 0bps to 20kbps! Used to get faster connection with the old 56K phone modem. Sometimes not even connecting or loading pages, forget video clips. I'll be canceling soon and if they wont play along, talking to the ombudsman about it. Only been connected for a couple of weeks but had enough already. I live in Brisbane, 6km from the CBD and always have a full strength connection signal. And I dont even take it mobile, its hooked up to my desktop. I havent tried customer support yet and am discouraged by what I read here, reliability is nothing if it wont connect and the same goes for value for money. I should have checked the web first for reviews like these. What is 3 up to????

Vodafone Mobile Broadband...Hopeless
Pro: None
Con: Unreliable, Slow, Inconsistent, poor ser
2 Years I have been stuck with this service. Despite alleged upgrades the signal continually drops out, download speeds are slow. During peak periods or kids holidays I just can't get online at all. Contract up in another month and can't wait to get away from this awful service. Maybe instead of advertising how good they are they should use some of the investment to actually improve their service.

One of the worst broadband companies, no youtube, bad speed, no support!

Since this year, vodafone speeds have dropped off significantly. Just look at their website, there's complaints all over their help forum. For me speeds down to one twentieth of what it was, if that. It is so slow that its impossible to watch Youtube or any videos at all! Like someone else mentioned, it does take like 5 hours to load a 30 min video. It also cut's off every 3mins or so and have to reload! Vodafone customer support said they won't take into account youtube speeds or the speed of any video connections! Also couldn't fix any browsing speeds. Their broadband staff have became so unhelpful. With a lot of new unqualified staff who are also very rude. Don't think I ever wanna get Vodafone again after this. I'd score them minus 100, not just because of the embarassing speed in my area. While some of their staff are fine. they hire the rudest night fill in tech staff.

Its ok like when no one else is on.I wake up at 6 am and stop using at 8.30 am.Forget using it at peak times.Sometimes ok for youtube but often I hit the pause button and wait for the whole song to load up then hit play.You get what you pay for hey !.Definately the weather affects it too I've noticed.

Been on a 24 month contract that has now expired so will be looking elsewhere. I'm in Sydney and thought it was just me, but my experiences over the past two years have pretty much been what all the previous reviewers have mentioned. S - L - O - W and very frustraing load times.

Don't buy
I signed up for 24 months in August last year and from October, my reception has been really bad. I used to live in East Sydney and now I'm in the Northern Beaches and both places it's been the same story. About 30% of the time it is usable and the rest of the time I struggle to log on at all and if I do it's incredibly slow and constantly dropping out. And I've found it inconvenient that Vodafone don't notify you to let you know when you need to update your device software. Twice since August my device has just stopped working and I've had to go to their site and update and then reinstall after the fact. An email or a text would be nice.

Would not recommend
After 2 years, my 3 mobile broadband suddenly had "no network". 3 could not (would not?) explain why this was the case. Their only 'solution' was to go to Vodafone. I did this and it worked for 2 months. Then, at the beginning of May, good network signal, but very little getting through. Constantly unable to load internet pages even google.com. Placed calls to Help Desk with no one calling back when they said they would. Emailed Vodafone these facts and they agreed to cancel my contract without penalty, even though they could see no problems their end. Funny how their Community page has a number of people reporting same problem.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Review
Speeds used to be acceptable during the day, deteriorating to about 30-60 kbps after 6pm. Recently it became unusable: about 100-600 bits ps! I tried to send 5 emails of 37kb total and only one of 3kb went through, then it timed out. I thought this was just an isolated incident, but it is now the norm.

Vodafone mobile broadband is terrible. I live in Sydney and this frequently disconnects, sometimes for a day or two. The signal is always weak and slow. They are no good. BUYER BEWARE. 1/10

Vodafone Mobile Broadband.... hopeless
It is by far the worst broadband I've used.. The speeds are so inconsistant it isn't funny! In brisbane (in an area close to a vodafone tower) I very rarely get over 1Mbps.. Some nights I'll be lucky to get 50Kbps... DONOT GO WITH VODAFONE!!! For paying $50/month I expect atleast a stable/usable connection. Sometimes it fails to load something as simple as facebook. If on youtube the videos (in 360p mind you) take forever to load, and you can forget about trying to visit other sites while the video is buffering, they simply will not load.. I will be cancelling my contract. Very very unhappy.

TERRIBLE IN BRISBANE CBD. Slow. Choppy. Disconnects frequently. Inconsistent speeds. Sometimes it takes a min to download 10 MB, sometimes 1 HOUR. I was stupid and signed a 1 year contract. Very unhappy, and tech support is not helpful at all. RUN AWAY!!!

Speed: ok in melbourne. VERY IRREGULAR & unstable in Albury. Customer Service: Dont call them. USELESS! Wasted waiting long. 2hrs one night & got disconnected half way into conversation. Called again another night & spent 1hour waiting. so unless you have a good patience & able to work out what indians are saying then you are ok. Not meaning to be racist just a fact. Reliability: I cancelled after 2 months. never happier & never going back to Vodafone. Should have done it in 1st week. Value for money: Go for other providers. Same price better service.

Vodafone mobile broadband is hopeless
I won't recommend Vodafone Mobile Broadband to anyone!!It is so slow that I constantly get the message that "the webpage can't be displayed" The speed 99 out of 100 times would be "bps" or just 0. It is so frustrating when you need to use internet that you find it just wouldn't work at all.Lucky I only bought the prepaid one.Even dial up would be soooo much fast than this vodafone mobile "broadband"!!!

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Review
I've been on a 24 month contract and although the service was usually reliable when i lived in Melbourne, I have been living in Brisbane for 6 months and can only use it in one room of my house, and the dongle has to be sitting in the one location otherwise it drops out. It kind of negates the fact that it is a 'mobile broadband' if i can't move it around. Anyway I am switching to something else as it was driving me nuts.

Terrible
Speed constantly changing for no reason. Has a hardware/software problem that will leave you with no net even with full signal. Ignore the good price, you will be disapointed if you buy this. I currently spend 30 minutes trying to connect for every minute I am connected. Canceling today.

Worse than dial up in 1998
This product is so bad that I have attempted 3 times to post a review using it, only to have it time out each time with speeds averaging 0-500 bps ( notice the missing "m" at the start there). I am 5 mins from the Perth CBD. It has performed equally poorly all over Australia. Do not buy it. I gave up after the third attempt and posted this from my phone with another carrier. Vodaphone is utterly hopeless.

Guaranteed to disconnect during a session
I've got a k3765 stick on prepay. It usually works reasonably well for at least a few minutes but will almost always disconnect after a while (After 2 months, I've yet to go a whole evening without this happening). The only fix I've found is to quit VF's software, unplug the usb modem, launch and plug back in again - very time-consuming. I've tried other fixes but they've all resulted in my mac crashing. On the plus side, if working well, the speed can be reasonable, though.

Vodafone Mobile Broadband Review
My Vodafone wireless disconnects about 20 times A DAY (and we live in Mt Gravatt, 10 minutes from CBD). We called Vodafone "customer service" and were shuffled from rep to rep for 90 minutes (we finally hung up in disgust). One month, we went over our limit (a ridiculously low 5GB a month) by 2 GB and were charged $200 extra. Needless to say, when our contract runs out, Vodafone will not be getting our business, in any connection, ever.

I have only had bad experiences with vodafone mobile broadband. The software crashes every few days and needs re installing followed by regular service dropouts. Not happy with there service at all. It worked fine for a few weeks but now is slower then dial up.

I orginally signed up for pre paid in July 2009. Speed of connection and downloads were acceptable and in Jan 2010 I signed up for Post Paid. Initially I was given a stick not compatible with Vista. Once remedied, continued drop outs and download speeds of less than 100kbps became the norm. A new stick and many many lengthy phone calls later, Vodafone have agreed to cancel contract as they advised their network is congested and no date set for any upgrades. Do not go anywhere near Vodafone - it is rubbish!

Overall I'm very happy with the Vodafone USB broadband stick. I travel lots on business and overall I get good speeds and a good connection. My one gripe is that speeds sometimes slow down going through certain areas on the train. I've also used it in a number of countries abroad and coverage has been good there too and I guess it's probably more secure than using an open network in a coffee shop!
